Mr. Vineet is an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Kangra, with extensive experience in the fashion and design industry and academia. He specializes in product design, concept design, design thinking, trend analysis, concept development, product development, and design strategy, visual and performing arts, painting.
Ms. Deepa joined the Textile Design Department at National Institute of Fashion Technology, Kangra, as an Assistant Professor in October 2018. A trained Textile Print Designer, she completed her two-year Master’s program in Fashion & Textiles from Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, Milan Italy. During her Master’s studies, she was awarded a prestigious scholarship by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
Dr. Romika Yadav is a Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Technology (BFTech). She holds an PhD and M.Tech. degree in Computer Science. She joined NIFT in 2021. Her areas of specialization include Big Data Analytics, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Design, Research Methodology, and Information Technology. She has more than 30 research publications in the field of Computer Science in national and international journals.
Mr. Mohammad Umar is an Assistant Professor of Fashion Technology and specializes in Industrial Engineering. He teaches undergraduate courses and leads research in garment manufacturing, industrial engineering, and textiles. He joined NIFT in 2012. He previously served as Executive in the Department of Industrial Engineering from 2009 to 2012. He has MBA and is pursuing his PhD in Management from Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar.
Lavdeep Singh, faculty in the department of Design Space, is an alumna from NIFT, Gandhinagar and National Institute of Design,
Ahmedabad. With an industry experience of sixteen years in Design, Retail, Management and Academics she has developed her
expertise in Fashion Design, Strategic Design Management, Fashion Forecasting, Fashion Studies and Fashion History. She has
been a part of various international conferences as a researcher. She loves to travel and has great passion for art, design history
and study of popular culture.
Dr. Nitesh Krishnan J is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion & Lifestyle Accessories (F&LA) at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Kangra. He specializes in Design detailing, 2D and 3D geometry, CAD/CAM modeling, Technical drawing, Materials manipulation and contemporary manufacturing processes, bringing over 12 years of academic and research experience to the classroom.
Niraj Kumar Jaiswal is a faculty member in the Department of Fashion Technology at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Kangra. He specializes in apparel production and teaches quality assurance, pattern making, product analysis, apparel costing, and apparel manufacturing. He has extensive professional experience across the apparel production system, including sampling, costing, CAD, production planning, sourcing, material optimization, sewing-room control, industrial engineering, work study, method study, and human-resource management.
Ms. Alka Rawat is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Communication at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Kangra, and serves as Course Coordinator for Fashion Communication. She specialises in communication, media studies, journalism, visual culture, storytelling, branding, and strategic communication. She brings over 15 years of professional and academic experience across media, communication design and strategy, branding, and higher education. Her teaching integrates communication theory with design practice and contemporary media.
Rahul Chandra is a Professor in the Department of Fashion Management Studies at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Kangra. He also holds the additional charge of Director, NIFT Kangra, and Registrar & Board Secretary, NIFT. Prior to joining NIFT, he served as Director at the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India.

Shiny Bhanoi is an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Kangra, and specializes in fashion styling and retail buying. She teaches undergraduate students in the Fashion Design programme and brings together her academic background in design and management with professional experience in the fashion and retail industry.
